"Still on the tools" by choice, master chef Michel Flores is happy to say that, after 43 years in the trade, he still enjoys it. "I tried retirement but I love working and the daily contact with lots of people," Michel says.

"Quality ingredients, a modern approach to the menus and happy staff are the key to pleasing our customers."

French born in Casa Blanca North Africa, of Spanish origin, and Australian by choice Michel has plenty of culinary inspiration to draw upon.  With a father who worked in civil construction, Michel moved around a lot in his formative years. "We then migrated to Australia in 1971 to Melbourne and I worked extensively around Australia, including in the bush, and eventually made Townsville my home," he says.

Having run four successful establishments in Townsville over the last 35 years, Michel is a hard-working achiever like his father and his father-in-law. A proud moment for them all was when Michel received a Lifetime Achievement Award for the state of Queensland presented at Parliament House in Canberra.
